Four ‘TTP men’ remanded

KARACHI, May 4: A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded four suspected militants of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan in police custody till May 6 in cases relating to possession of illicit weapons and explosives.

The CID police claimed to have arrested Farhad Khan aka Hamza, Zafar Hussain, Rafiq Ahmed and Mohammed Ilyas aka Siddiqullah after a shootout in Ittehad Town on May 3. They also claimed to have seized arms and explosives from their custody.

They were booked in a number of cases under Sections 353 (criminal assault to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code, Section 13-D of the Arms Ordinance, 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance Act.—Staff Reporter
