SUKKUR: Housewife, bandit killed in crossfire

SUKKUR, Feb 3: A woman and a bandit were killed while a man was injured on Monday in an exchange of fire between bandits and inmates of a house in Jahano village near Bagarji, some seven kilometres away from Sukkur.

According to details, the exchange of firing took place after four armed dacoits tried to take away the sacrificial animals corralled outside the house of Sachal Magsi.

During the firing between the inmates of the house and bandits, a woman, Qaz Bano, and the bandit, identified as Mad Khoso, were killed while a villager, Mohammad Ali, was injured.

Ghous Bakhsh, brother of the deceased, later lodged an FIR with the Lakhi police against four unidentified bandits.

Meanwhile, the corpse of a boy, belonging to the Mahar tribe, Khadim Mahar, was found on Monday near Gul Wah in the jurisdiction of the Chak police station.

INJURED: Six persons were injured on Monday in an armed clash between two groups of the Bhutto tribe over a piece of land in Ghotki.

The injured are Mohammad Ismail, Allah Dino, Ramzan, Gul Sher, Burro Bhutto and Shabbir.

Later, the police arrested six persons of both the groups.
