Missing woman found dead

BATKHELA, April 13: The bullet-riddled body of a missing woman was found from fields in Palai locality of Malakand protected area on Saturday.

According to officials of Levies post Palai, 35-year-old Shahina, wife of Khan Karim, went missing from her house on April 11. They said that the woman was shot dead after being tortured as torture signs were visible on her body.

They said that the body of the deceased, mother of five, was taken to Peshawar for postmortem. The Levies post registered FIR against unidentified assailants on the complaint of Karim Khan.

Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy drowned while bathing in the Swat River. His body was fished out by the local people.

The body was taken to district headquarters hospital in Batkhela for postmortem and later handed over to relatives. The deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Batkhela.

POLLING STATIONS: The administration has declared 56 polling stations most sensitive and 105 sensitive in the Malakand protected area.

District election commissioner, Malakand, Fazal Hakim Khan told Dawn preparations for holding free, fair and transparent election were underway.

He said total 265 polling stations for one NA and two provincial assembly seats will be set up in Malakand protected area.

He said 81 male, 79 female and 105 combined polling stations will be set up.

He said of the total 311,172 registered voters 133,796 were women.
