ECP orders to reshuffle Sindh's 65 top bureaucrats

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday ordered Caretaker Government of Sindh to reshuffle 65 top bureaucrats including chief secretary and home secretary and submit compliance of orders within seven days.

According to ECP, the orders to reshuffle Sindh's top bureaucrats were issued following receipt of several complaints against them.

The ECP says that the bureaucracy of Sindh is not independent and issued a list of 65 top officials who have been allegedly partisan to a political party.

The commission directed the interim governments to ensure that the bureaucracy should not only act as neutral, but are also seen to be neutral.

“If caretaker government considers that a Federal or Provincial Secretary is independent and need not be transferred/shuffled, it may refrain from doing so and intimate the same to the Election Commission.” says the directives issued by the ECP.
