Nine die, 15 hurt in bus-trailer collision

SARGODHA, March 26: Nine people were killed and 15 injured in a bus-trailer collision on Tuesday morning on Sargodha-Bhalwal Road, about 10-km from here.

A Bhera-bound bus collided with a trailer near Ajnala Station on Sargodha-Bhalwal Road. Nine passengers identified as Nafeesa Begum, Sabri and her daughter Eman Fatima, Ghulam Haider, Muhammad Husain, Iqbal, bus driver Qari Rafique and conductor Mazhar were killed on the spot. Three of the injured were shifted to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad, while 12 others were admitted to DHQ Hospital.

Some of the injured have been identified as Muhammad Husain, Mohsin, Khalid, Anwar, Rao Nadeem, Waseem and Qurban.

Reports suggest that the driver lost control over the bus after its tyre broke down whereas an injured passenger said  the driver had a nap and the bus collided with the trailer. — Correspondent
