Three jailed for life in murder case

SUKKUR, Jan 23: The district and sessions court of Jacobabad on Wednesday sentenced three men to life imprisonment for murder and imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on each of them.

They would have to spend an additional six months in jail in case of non-payment of the fine.

Judge Amjad Ali Bhoyo announced the verdict against Nadir Ali Lashari, Muhammad Lashari and Abdul Rehman Lashari for killing Juma Khan Lashari on June 11, 2008 over an old feud within the remit of the Muhammad Pur police station.

Police had arrested the three accused along with their fourth accomplice Muhammad Achar Lashari. They were sent them to jail where Achar died afterwards.

THREAT: Leaders of the Revenue Employees Union have threatened to launch a protest movement throughout the district and observe a lockout in the Revenue Department offices if Tapedar Muhammad Yousuf Lashari and other kidnapped persons were not recovered immediately. District union president Kamaluddin Langha, vice-president Niaz Muhammad Jakhrani and union members Farhan Lashari, Muhammad Moosa Talani Kamal Khan Lashari, Qamaruddin Jakhrani and Shabbir Soomro were protesting against the kidnapping.
