Medical team sent to affected areas
QUETTA, Jan 1: The government of Balochistan has sent a team of doctors along with medicines to the affected areas of Sindh where a measles outbreak over a couple of weeks has left scores of children dead.
A spokesman for the provincial government said on Tuesday night that on the directives of Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani the health department had sent a team comprising 10 doctors and other staff, along with two truck-loads of medicines, to Sindh.
The team will report to the Sukkur commissioner who will deploy them to the affected areas for providing treatment to the children suffering from the disease.
The spokesman said more doctors and medicines would be sent to the affected areas, if needed.
