Fuel supply in Islamabad hit by fog

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: The ministry of petroleum and natural resources announced on Monday there was no shortage of fuel in the country and only the federal capital was facing some shortage because of transportation problem triggered by heavy fog.

According to a government press release, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf took notice of media reports and asked the Secretary of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Dr Waqar Masood Khan, to submit a report on the matter.

The secretary informed the prime minister that there was no fuel shortage in the country and only some complaints had been received from within Islamabad where because of heavy fog deliveries could not reach in time.

The situation, the secretary said, had now improved because deliveries were now reaching fuel stations.—Khawar Ghumman
