TAXILA, Dec 25: Hassanabdal Police on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of charas from Peshawar to Lahore and arrested a couple.

Police sources said that acting on a tip-off, a police party led by Inspector Rizwanullah Khan intercepted a car near Burhan toll plaza on GT road and recovered 60-kg of chars from the hidden parts of the vehicle.

During preliminary interrogation they confessed that they are working for an inter-provincial gang of drugs mafia and taking this consignment to Lahore.
