Man injured in police firing dies
ATTOCK, Nov 30: Two policemen were arrested after a man allegedly shot by them three days back died on Thursday, it has been learnt.
Besides, Mohammad Imran, the in-charge of the Khari Moorat police post in New Airport area of Fatehjang where the incident occurred, was suspended.
Police sources on Friday said Rab Nawaz, a resident of Jungle village, was signaled to stop by the two policemen Najum Shah and Imran Suhail near the Khari Moorat police post on Tuesday night.
However, the police said the man escaped, forcing the policemen to chase and fire on him. Nawaz sustained injuries and was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Fatehjang.
Later, he was referred to a hospital in Rawalpindi where he died.
New Airport police registered a murder case against the two policemen on the complaint of the deceased’s cousin, Mohammad Iqbal.
TWO KILLED: Two bike riders were killed in separate road accidents.
Mohammad Nasir was travelling on his bike in Hazro on Thursday night when he lost control of his vehicle while trying to save a pedestrian. He sustained injuries and was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hazro where he died.
The son of a retired forest officer, Malik Mehboob, was on way to Rawalpindi on a motorcycle when he was hit by a car on Pindi-Fatehjang road. He died on the spot. — Correspondent
