CHARSADDA, Jan 7: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal Vice-President Qazi Hussain Ahmad announced on Tuesday that he would lead a rally in Islamabad and siege of parliament if the government did not changed its policy regarding the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Speaking at a public meeting at Tangi, he said the MMA would compel the rulers to respect the wishes and aspiration of the people instead of pleasing the foreign powers. He said that people had reposed confidence in the MMA because they wanted Islamic rule and were against American atrocities in Afghanistan.

He said the MMA would organize protests both in the assembly and outside for the injustices meted out with the Umma by the West and America and the indifference of the country’s rulers towards it.

Qazi said the MMA would never accept a president in uniform nor would it compromise on the Legal Framework Order. He said that the rulers should act according to the aspirations of the people.

He alleged that Federal Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao was using government machinery in the by-election in PF-20, where his nephew was contesting against an MMA candidate.

He dispelled the rumours of differences in the alliance and asked the people to vote for MMA candidate Maulana Mohammad Idrees in the by-election.

Talking to a delegation of Water and Power Development Authority Hydro Union, led by its zonal vice-president, Akhthar Ayub, he said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal would ensure that the problems of the labourers were solved. He assured the delegation that he would make every effort to fulfil the union’s demands.
