Smuggling bids foiled in Kohat

KOHAT, Nov 19: Police foiled attempts of smuggling crude oil to down country and impounded 405 drums and four trucks on Monday.

In the first incident, Lachi police seized 340 drums of crude oil that were being smuggled in three trucks from local oil fields. Police also arrested three alleged smugglers identified as Fazalullah, Abdullah and Suleman, all residents of Afghanistan. They were booked under the Petroleum Act.

Similarly, Cantonment police impounded a truck carrying 65 drums of crude oil without valid documents and arrested Ahmed Gul and his accomplice.

KILLED: A man killed his daughter-in-law over a domestic dispute inside her house in Ustarzai area on Monday, police said. They said that Zahir Gul, a brother of deceased Dilraz Begum, registered a case against her father-in-law Mohammad Rehman. He told police said that the accused shot dead his sister over a domestic dispute.—Correspondent
