LAHORE, Nov 14: The Insaaf Students Federation on Wednesday observed its fifth foundation day as “day of change” across the country.

The ISF members cut cakes in different cities and vowed to continue struggle for getting rid of the corrupt system.

At ISF Lahore office, a ceremony was organised, wherein office-bearers and members cut a foundation day cake.

Speaking to ISF members, federation’s central information secretary Waqas Iftikhar Butt said the youth under the leadership of Imran Khan was fighting a war to save Pakistan from further degeneration. “The ISF will continue its struggle until the present corrupt system would be done away with and youth gets its due rights,” he said.

ISF Lahore president Gulraiz Iqbal said the Pakistani youth had decided to bring about a change in the present status quo and no power could stop their movement.

He said the prospective Tehrik-i-Insaaf government would ensure that youth as well as all other segments of society should get their due rights.

Meanwhile, ISF central president Farrukh Habib stated that a handful of students had laid the foundation of ISF at Punjab University on Nov 14, 2007, after emergency was imposed by Pervez Musharraf.

Now, he said, the ISF had its members in great number in all provinces and were working for the welfare of students’ community. He said the ISF was campaigning for a uniform education system, restoration of student unions and students’ grooming without considering caste and creed. He said the ISF rejected the culture of violence and weaponisation.

Mr Habib lamented that the education budget was too low and every student was facing shortage of infrastructure and academic facilities coupled with ever increasing fee structure. He said joblessness was another big issue that was frustrating the youth in the country.

Stating that the year 2013 would be a year of change, the ISF president appealed to the students’ community to use their right to vote and become instrumental in bringing about a positive change in the country.
