SUKKUR, Nov 12: Armed men said to be belonging to the Bozdar community gunned down a man of their own community on the pretext of karo-kari in Goth Pir Bhari within the remit of the Khanpur Mahar police station in Ghotki on Monday, sources said.

They said Zahoor Ahmed Bozdar was standing outside his house in Goth Pir Bhari near Khanpur when the armed men opened fire on him and fled.

The victim died on the spot.

The area police reached the spot and took the body to the Civil Hospital Ghotki where doctors handed over the body to his relatives after a post-mortem examination.

An FIR against five members of the Bozdar community — Sohbat, Ali Mardan, Riaz, Ali Hyder and Ali Ahmed — was registered on the complaint of the father of the victim at the Khanpur Mahar police station.

However, no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
