Commission on Arsalan case seeks more time

ISLAMABAD, Oct 15: The Dr Shoaib Suddle Commission appointed by the Supreme Court to investigate allegations of Rs342 million financial wrongdoings by Dr Arsalan Iftikhar complained on Monday of lack of cooperation by property tycoon Malik Riaz, the interior ministry and Islamabad police.

In an interim report submitted to the court, the commission sought one month more to complete the investigation that could not be completed within the stipulated 30 days.

The report cited dillydallying by the ministry in extending required assistance and non-appearance of Mr Riaz as the main causes of the delay.

A bench comprising Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif will hear Mr Riaz’s review petition on Tuesday.
