Free treatment for Malala’s friends

ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the authorities concerned to provide free medical care to the two students who were injured along with Malala Yousufzai in a terrorist attack in Swat.

Spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar said the president inquired after the health of Shazia and Kaainat.

He said the three girls’ resolve to acquire education despite the numerous threats to their lives had illumined the path for all.

Mr Zardari said they represented the true face of Pakistan, were a national asset and had raised collective national consciousness against barbarism of militants and extremists.

The spokesperson said the president called for a report on their condition as well as free medical care.
