RAWALPINDI, Oct 4: On the first day of his visit to Russia on Thursday, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani laid floral wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier in Moscow.

According to a statement issued by the ISPR here, he was received by the Commander-in-Chief of Russian Ground Forces, Colonel General Vladimir Chirkin.

A Russian band played Pakistan’s national anthem.

The COAS inspected a guard of honour. He also called on the CGS of the Russian armed forces at the ministry of defence.—APP
