Egyptian court frees children
CAIRO, Oct 4: An Egyptian court on Thursday ordered the release of two Coptic Christian children accused of insulting Islam, a source in the prosecutor’s office said.
He said that prosecutor Abdel Meguid Mahmud took the decision because the accused were minors. Police arrested the children after a complaint from residents in southern Egypt, for allegedly desecrating a paper containing verses of the Holy Quran.—AFP
