Imran endorses Mengal’s views

LAHORE, Sept 28: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has endorsed Baloch leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s statement in the Supreme Court that situation in Balochistan is at its worst and that the “corrupt” and “unrepresentative” government was formed in the restive province after 2008 polls.

In a press release issued here on Friday, Mr Khan said real public representatives had boycotted the 2008 polls as members of the present “corrupt” provincial assembly were illegally pocketing millions of rupees daily.

Opposing military operation in Balochistan, he said it would prove counterproductive instead of resolving the lawlessness problem there.

He said the economic condition of the Baloch people was very poor while thousands of their near and dear ones were missing. The PTI chief demanded that killers of Nawab Akbar Bugti be taken to task immediately.

He said the PTI believed that all political parties should be allowed to work freely in Balochistan so that a representative and efficient government could take control and ameliorate conditions of the masses there.
