ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has invited the heads of political parties to join him at a Shan-i-Rasool (PBUH) conference to show solidarity with the nation against the anti-Islam film.

The prime minister will address the conference at the Convention Centre in Islamabad on Friday.

The PML-N’s deputy information secretary, Khurram Dastagir, said the party had yet to decide whether or not to participate in the conference.

“I have only come to know through the media that the government has decided to hold the conference and extended invitation to other political parties,” he said.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf’s spokesman Shafqat Mahmood said the party had not received a formal invitation to the conference. A decision would be taken once the government contacted the party, he said.
