UMERKOT, Aug 26: A man committed suicide after allegedly killing a youth in Shadi Palli on Sunday.

Dharmshi Kolhi, brother of the deceased, Manoo Kolhi, told Dawn that on Saturday night, the family was informed that Nainoo Kolhi had axed Manoo to death and escaped. He said his brother was looking after the cattle pen of Chaudhry Latif in Mogi farm.

Hemraj, uncle of Nainoo Kolhi, said he was informed on Sunday that the body of his nephew was hanging on a tree. He was told that he had committed suicide after killing Manoo. But he alleged that both the youths had been killed by Chaudhry Latif.

After receiving the bodies, heirs of Manoo and Nainoo protested outside Shadi Palli police station for registration of FIRs against Chaudhry Latif.

They placed bodies on the Umerkot-Mirpurkhas road to put pressure on police to register case. SHO Qurban Panhwar persuaded them to end the protest.

According to them, the two young men had quarrelled over a mobile phone five days ago. Two days ago landlord Abdul Latif went to their homes and took them along with him.

Police handed over the bodies to heirs after autopsy at the taluka hospital of Pithoro.

Police have registered two murder cases against Yasir Latif, Rashid Latif and their brother-in-law Muhammad Rafique on the complaint of Dharmashee Kolhi, brother of Manoo, andHemraj Kolhi, uncle of deceased Nainoo.

BID FOILED: Police and local people caught three robbers red-handed on Sunday.

Pithoro police said the three dacoits had barged into the house of businessman Dev Kumar Khatri in Pithoro town. When they were collecting cash and valuables at gunpoint, a girl saw them from a hole in the main.
