Theft at PR yard foiled; one held

LAHORE, Aug 22: A man was caught on Wednesday stealing material from Mughalpura Yard while his accomplice escaped.

A railways police party during a routine patrol spotted two men taking away brass rods and other material from stationary coaches at the yard. On seeing the police, the accused attempted to flee but one of them was nabbed.

Later identified as Shahbaz, the arrested accused told PR police that his accomplice Rafaqat was a resident of Ghaziabad. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, PR police Inspector-General Syed Ibne Husain directed the Lahore SSP to award commendation certificates to the policemen for foiling the theft attempt. — Staff Reporter
