Iraq attacks kill seven people

BAGHDAD, Aug 6: Bombings and shootings killed seven people and wounded 17 others in Iraq on Monday, security and medical officials said.

So far this month, attacks have killed 62 people, 43 of them members of the security forces, according to a tally based on security and medical sources.

In the deadliest attack on Monday, a bomb placed in a car killed three people and wounded 13 in Al-Haswa area, south of Baghdad, police and a medical source said.

A bomb targeting a house belonging to a Kurdish family in Khanaqin, northeast of Baghdad, killed two people and wounded two others, a police lieutenant colonel and a medical source said.—AFP
