Young man shot dead

KARACHI, July 6: A young man was shot dead in a North Nazimabad locality on Friday morning, police said.

They said that 31-year-old Amanullah was shot dead by armed riders outside his house in Afridi Colony in North Nazimabad’s Block Q within the remit of the Shahrah-i-Noor Jehan police station.

The victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died during treatment, the police said.

The victim used to work in a marble factory and also worked as a part-time driver.

The police suspected personal enmity as a likely motive for the murder.

Man booked for killing wife

A man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute in Orangi Town on Friday.

Police said that Mohammad Jaffar shot his wife Gul Bano 35, after having an altercation with her over some domestic issue in Orangi Sector 1, Magsi Goth.

The victim, mother of four, was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she died during treatment.

The police said that the suspect managed to escape.

The victim’s mother, Meena Zadi, lodged an FIR against Jaffar at the Orangi Town police station, the police said.

Two die in accident

Two young men were killed in a road traffic accident within the remit of the Brigade police station on Friday.

Police said that the victims —Ibrahim Saleem and Sajjad Manzoor — were on a motorbike when a fast-moving car hit them near Lines Area.

They were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where they died during treatment.—Staff Reporter
