Living with scarred noses

In Pakistan, parents often implore their children to "please take care of our nose". The nose has special significance in Pakistani culture, where it symbolises the honour of the family. In acid violence, more than just honour is scarred – victims face permanent physical damage, social isolation and emotional suffering.
