Four of a family stabbed to death

OKARA, May 22: Four members of a family were found stabbed to death here on Tuesday evening in Ahmed Town.

Reports said police found Dr Babar Masih’s wife Shagufta Bibi, daughter Zarash, son Zohaib Babar and sister-in-law Samina Bibi stabbed to death. Dr Babar was found critically injured carrying a knife in his hand. District Police Officer Dr. Abid Raja also inspected the crime scene.

Police found a rope hanging from the ceiling fan of the room. They suspected that family head Dr. Babar Masih might have stabbed his familymembers to death and attempted suicide. After failing to kill self, he injured himself with the knife.

Police have shifted Babar and four bodies to the DHQ hospital. Further investigation is under way.
