LAHORE, April 26: A Lahore High Court (LHC) judge on Thursday made a police inspector stand in the courtroom for two hours for taking bribe from a member of the public.

Petitioner Munir Naeem said Inspector Sultan received bribe from him in the fraud case he had registered with Ravi Road police against Liaqat, Asghar and Javed. Inspector Sultan, however, exonerated the suspects. The petitioner sought transfer of investigation from Sultan tosome other honest police official.

The judge ordered the inspector to stand in the courtroom. The cop tendered his unconditional apology but the judge turned it down.

After a couple of hours, the judge let him go and ordered him to reinvestigate the case and submit a report within a week. — Staff Reporter
