Drivers arrested for diesel theft

LAKKI MARWAT, April 23: Police on Monday arrested two drivers and seized their oil tankers over illegal decanting of diesel from one tanker to another near Ghaznikhel area.

An official of the local administration said the arrests were made by a police team headed by SHO Gul Mo1hammad as the two drivers, Muzamil and Inamullah, both belonging to DI Khan district, were carrying out the illegal activity.

He said Muzamil filled his tanker with 40,000 litres of diesel at Mehmood Kot oil depot before leaving for Tarujabba in Peshawar but began decanting it on the way to another tanker to the loss of PSO.

The official said police registered a case against the two drivers and began investigation.

Meanwhile, the same police team arrested a man on the outskirts of Lakki Marwat city after seizing a snatched motorcycle.

Binyamin, a resident of Daulat Tajazai area, told police that two men riding a motorcycle snatched his motorcycle at gunpoint and left towards Lakki Marwat city.

Police informed the patrolling party of Ghaznikhel police station, which chased motorcycle snatchers and arrested one of them near Graban Bridge on Lakki-Tajazai Road. He was identified as Saifullah.

Police booked him and his fleeing accomplice, Shah Qayyaz, and began investigation.
