Two killed in attack on tea stall

KARACHI, April 21: Two men were killed when armed men opened fire on them at a roadside tea stall within the remit of the Sohrab Goth police station on Saturday, police said.

They said that the incident took place in Lasi Goth near the X-2 minibus terminus.

They said that 40-year-old Nisar Khuda Bakhsh was sitting at Zakir Hotel, where he had a dispute with someone.

The police claimed that the suspects involved in the dispute with Nisar returned to the tea stall and opened indiscriminate firing and rode away.

Nisar and 32-year-old Abu Qasim sustained bullet wounds and were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

Area SHO Abdul Ghaffar Jumani said that apparently Nisar was the target and Abu Qasim, who was having tea at the time of the incident, fell victim to the attack.

The police described the incident as a result of some personal enmity and were looking for the suspects involved in the incident.

Earlier in the week, at least five people were killed and several others wounded in three separate attacks at tea stalls within the remit of Shahrah-e- Noor Jehan, North Nazimabad and Gulistan-e-Jauhar police stations.
