Missing persons case: PHC urges police to cooperate

PESHAWAR: While urging police officials to cooperate, Peshawar High Court’s Chief Justice said he would resign if the court fails to provide protection to them, DawnNews reported.

A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Dost Khan and Justice Mian Fasih heard the case pertaining to eight missing persons.

Khan observed that people were picked up from their homes without any arrest warrant and subjected to torture after wards.

He remarked that detaining a person illegally is negation of the human rights.

Later, the court directed federal secretaries of interior, law and defence to appear before it.
