One killed, two hurt as rivals clash

LAHORE, April 4: One person was killed and two others were injured in a shootout between two rival groups on Qadir Road in Samanabad here on Wednesday.

Samanabad police said members of groups led by Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Saleem, who have a property dispute on Eidgah, exchanged fire following a quarrel.

Muhammad Arshad and two members of Saleem group suffered gunshot wounds and were shifted to a hospital where Arshad succumbed to his injuries.

ROBBERY: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs1.6 million from three houses in the city on Wednesday.

Four robbers stormed into the house of Shahid in Township police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Some robbers barged into the house of Asif in Sundar police limits and took cash and valuables valuing Rs500,000.

Armed robbers burst into the house of Akbar in Township police limits and made off with cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.
