LAHORE, April 2: Ravi, Gulberg and Aziz Bhatti town municipal administrations on Monday got five cases registered against marriage hall owners and others over violation of Punjab government's one-dish and time limit directive.
It was said at a meeting presided over by District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal here on Monday.
The meeting reviewed progress on the crackdown on violators of the ban imposed by the government on service of more than one dish and marriage ceremonies continuing beyond 10pm.
Town municipal officers told the DCO and other participants that cases had been registered against the violators and two of them had been arrested. The DCO directed the officials to enforce the government policy on marriage hall timings and one-dish and continue the crackdown. He directed the TMOs to monitor marriage functions regularly and submit their reports on a daily basis.
He advised them to keep police with them during raids/inspections of marriage halls.
WHEAT: DCO Noorul Amin on Monday directed the agriculture wing of the City District Government of Lahore to finalise arrangements for wheat procurement from farmers.
Chairing a meeting here, he directed the officials to complete arrangements at all procurement centres by April 12. He told them to start distribution of gunny bags to farmers from April 15 and wheat purchase from April 20.
He said a monitoring cell would be set up at his office that would start working till April 11. — Staff Reporter
