ISLAMABAD, March 31: The Aabpara police are hunting for an impersonator who defrauded people on pretext of giving them employment, police said on Saturday

According to details, Yousuf Ali, approached police and lodged a complaint that he had paid Rs900,000 to Arshad Shakeel – a self-claimed director of Capital Development Authority (CDA) to arrange employment for five people.

However, the appointment letters he issued were found bogus when he along with four other “newly-appointed” employeesreached the authority’s office for joining.

Police said an acquaintance introduced Shakeel with the five persons, including the complainant, and during the meeting he assured them jobs.

He also got advance payment, while the remaining amount was paid when he handed over appointment letters to them on the official letterheads carrying official stamps too. The victims tried to approach the accused but he had disappeared while his mobile phone was also switched off. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
