Two `robbers` killed in shootout

KARACHI, March 26: Two suspected bandits were killed in what police described as an encounter within the remit of the Napier police station on Monday evening.

Police said that the shoot-out took place near Ghans Mandi where two suspects were looting shops. A police patrol arrived at the place and an encounter ensued, they said, adding that during the shoot-out the two suspects sustained bullet wounds and died on the spot.

The bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination.

Napier SHO Imdad Khawaja said that the Nabi Bux police also took part in the shoot-out.

He said that the police recovered two TT pistols and a motorcycle from the suspects.

The killed suspects could not be identified till late in the night.
