Man killed

TAXILA, March 24: A person was killed in jubilant firing at a marriage ceremony in Bodo village in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station on Saturday.

Police sources said a wedding guest, Mohammad Waqas, stated to be cousin of the groom, received serious bullet injuries during firing in jubilation but died before being taken to the hospital. — Correspondent

RTMA operation bears fruit

RAWALPINDI, March 24: Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) on Saturday launched operation against katchi abadi dwellers at Bhosa Godown in Ratta Amral area and razed some 15 makeshift houses, retrieving three kanals land from their possession.

The staff had earlier made two similar attempts to recover the land but failed due to resistance from the dwellers. However, this time it launched operation with the help of 100 police personnel. — A Reporter

40 ‘outlaws’ arrested

ATTOCK, March 24: Attock police have nabbed 40 alleged outlaws including gamblers along with recovery of arms and narcotics in separate strikes at different areas of the district.

The district police headquarters said here on Saturday that Pindigheb police arrested eight alleged gamblers during a surprise raid at Toot village. Attock police also held 32 alleged criminals. Separate cases were registered against the accused. — Correspondent
