Third in a fortnight: Thieves strike at Parliament Lodges again

ISLAMABAD, March 15: Thieves broke into the flat of a legislator at Parliament Lodges and stole a rifle, police said on Thursday.

It was the third trespassing incident in different flats of the lodges during a period of two weeks.

The police have registered a case against unidentified persons and started investigation.

The incident took place in a flat of the MNA, where a joint secretary was residing. The joint secretary is a son-in-law of MNA Ayaz Amir.

The burglar broke into the flat and took away his rifle. The victim approached Secretariat police and lodged a complaint.

Police said that earlier, the burglar also broke into the flat of another MNA and stole mattresses and gas heaters.

Similarly, the culprits made an attempt of burglary in another flat and entered the house by breaking the window.

But nothing was stolen from the residence.
