Midhyana remanded

SARGODHA, March 14: An anti-terrorism court judge remanded into custody for a day on Wednesday former MPA Aslam Midhyana for allegedly torturing a school teacher.

The judge ordered the police to produce Midhyana before him on Thursday (today).

Mr Midhyana told reporters in the lockup of Midh Ranjha police that he had been implicated in the case for he had opposed Nawaz Sharif in the 1990 election in the area.

He faces charges of torturing teacher Nafees Ahmed. The news of torture sparked protests in Sargodha. -Correspondent
