Robbers make Rs3.3m in five hits

LAHORE, March 11: Robbers took away cash and valuables worth R3.3 million in five hits in the city on Sunday.

Four robbers entered Javed’s house in Gujjarpura, took the family at gunpoint and looted cash and valuables worth Rs800,000.

Some robbers stormed Mehmood’s residence in Islampura and took away cash and valuables worth Rs700,000.

Some robbers, separately, looted cash and valuables worth Rs1.8 million from Shamshair’s house in Shafeeqabad, Ameen’s in Gulberg and Fazal’s house in Shadbagh police limits.

INJURED: The Lytton Road police registered a hurt case against two unidentified motorcyclists for allegedly injuring a police inspector near Chauburji on Sunday.

The police said Inspector Ejaz Dhillon, who is recently on advance course, stopped his car to see his friend when two motorcyclists approached him, shot at him and fled.

FIR: The Johar Town police have registered a case against two people who shot at the owner of an advertising agency but he emerged unhurt after the firing.

Naveed Ahmad told the police that two men intercepted him in front of his Board of Revenue Housing Society residence whenhe was returning from his Faisal Town office and shot at him.

He said he saved his life by lying down on the floor, adding the bullets had shattered glass doors and windowpanes.
