Two guards found dead

KARACHI, March 2: Two private security guards were found shot dead in an office in a Gulshan-i-Iqbal area on Friday afternoon, police said.

They said the bodies were found in the office located in Block 4 within the remit of the Mobina Town police station.

The owner of the office, Muhammad Salman, informed the police about the incident, they added.

At around 3pm when Mr Salman came to the office he found it open and the two security guards’ bodies were lying each on the ground and the mezzanine floors inside the office, the police said quoting the owner as saying.

Hospital sources said that Muhammad Saleem and Muhammad Imran had been shot once each in the head.

Both men were said to be relatives and their bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examinations.The killers also took away the guards’ weapons. The victims were employees of a private security company and had been posted at the office for past six months, the police said.

They said the owner ran a commission-based investment business at the office. The police suspected that that the men might have been murdered over personal enmity.

They said it appeared that both the victims were drugged first as they did not offer any resistance during their murders.

However, that could be ascertained only after a chemical examination report was issue, the police added.

No case was registered till late in the night.

Property dealer shot dead

A property dealer was gunned down by unidentified men within the remit of the Pirabad police station early on Friday, police said.

The 45-year-old estate agent, Abdul Qadir, was gunned down when he was going to offer Fajr prayers in a Qasba Colony mosque,the police said.

The victim received a fatal bullet wound and died on the spot, they added.

The father of five children, hailing from Abbottabad was a resident of Sector 5-L.

A case (FIR 72/2012) was registered under Sections 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code against unidentified suspects on the complaint of a relative of the victim.
