Baghdad car bomb kills four

BAGHDAD: Iraqi officials say a car bomb on a main street in a shopping area in southeastern Baghdad has killed four people.

An interior ministry official said that the blast struck at around 7:30 am (0430 GMT) in the Ameen area of east Baghdad, during rush hour Wednesday morning also wounded 10 other passers-by and damaged storefronts.

Medical sources said the Ibn al-Nafis and Al-Kindi hospitals had received three bodies and nine wounded people between them.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
