Rs2.4m looted in five hits

LAHORE, Feb 26: Thieves and robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs2.4 million in five separate incidents in the city on Sunday.

Unidentified people broke into the house of Muhammad Shahbaz in Nawab Town police precincts and fled after collecting cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs1 million.

Four robbers stormed Manzoor’s house in Factory Area police limits and fled after looting cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.

Three robbers entered Shahzad Ali’s house in Shadbagh police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.

Two robbers stopped Tauseef and his family in Johar Town police limits and looted cash and valuables worth Rs300,000 while as many robbers intercepted Saqib and his family in Ghaziabad police limits and deprived them of cash and valuables worth Rs200,000.

BODY: The Sundar police found the body of a 25-year-old man in fields near Sultankey village and shifted it for autopsy on Sunday.

The police said the victim, yet to be identified, was apparently gunned down after being tortured.
