ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: The capital police on Friday obtained physical remand of Khurram Rasool, former media adviser of prime minister, in connection with cheque dishonoring cases in which he was declared proclaimed offender.

The police said Rasool was wanted to Kohsar police in connection with two cases of dishonoring of cheques worth Rs7.4million and Rs6.7million registered with them in 2007 and 2010 respectively. The complainants of the cases were a banker and a businessman.

The investigators called Rasool from Adiala Jail through court where he was in judicial remand in connection with other fraud cases, which were being investigated by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The Kohsar police produced him in the court of area magistrate Nadeem Shaukat, who gave his custody to police on one-day physical remand.
