Robbers on looting spree

RAWALPINDI, Feb 21: Robbers on Tuesday looted Rs1.639 million from the manager of a gas filling station and deprived four families of cash, jewellery and cellphones, police said.

Jahanzaib Khan, manager of a CNG station, in his complaint said he along with his assistant was going to a bank in Rehmanabad when four persons intercepted his car. He said two  robbers forced him to hand over the bag containing Rs1.639 million and escaped.

In another incident, four men snatched a bag having Rs80,000 from Karamat Hussain who had come for shopping at a market along with his family.

Waqas Nawaz, a resident of Chaklala, who fell victim to robbers in Chontra area said four persons snatched Rs76,500 from him.

Likewise, two robbers broke into the house of Wasim Javaid in Chaklala area and held his family hostage. They took away cash, gold ornaments and a cellphone.

Asif Raza, a resident of Chaklala Scheme III lodged a complaint with the police that two persons intercepted him while he was on way to home and snatched Rs13,000 and documents from him.—Staff Reporter
