LAHORE, Feb 15: Two men were caught stealing goods and material from railway yard on Wednesday.

A Railways Police party during routine patrol spotted two men taking away material lying in the open at Lahore yard. The accused opened fire when challenged by the police party. During an exchange of fire one of the accused, Mushtaq, suffered injuries and wascaught along with his accomplice Abdul Sattar.

A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, PR Police Inspector-General Syed Ibne Husain directed the Lahore SSP to award commendation certificates to Head Constable Ghulam Jaffar, constables Rehmat Ali and Abid Ali for foiling the theft attempt.
