Two brothers shot dead over land dispute

TAXILA, Feb 7: Two brothers were shot dead while the third was injured over a land dispute in village Thatta Khalil in the limits of Taxila police station on Tuesday.

Police sources said Malik Tariq Mehmood, a former councilor, had a land dispute with his cousins. On Tuesday, they exchanged hot words over the issue. In fury, Tariq Mehmood brought his gun out and opened indiscriminate fire at his cousins. Resultantly, Mohammad Arif, 38, and Mohammad Kamran, 24, died on the spot while Mohammad Asif, 28, received critical injuries.

The injured and dead were shifted to THQ hospital. Later, Mohammad Asif was referred to DHQ hospital, Rawalpindi due to his critical condition.

The accused managed to flee the scene. The police registered a case against the accused and started further investigation. SHO Sardar Shakeel while talking to this reporter said that police teams were carrying out raids at various places to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, two persons were shot injured over a petty dispute in Wah village in the limits of Wah Saddar police station. Sources said Mohammad Irfan and Amir Khan shot Mohammad Suleman and Shoukat Ali injured and fled the scene. The injured were taken to THQ hospital where they were stated to be out of danger.
