Six shot dead in two incidents

SUKKUR, Feb 7: Six people, including three boys, were shot dead in two different incidents in Pano Akil and Bukhshapur on Tuesday.Irfan Mahar, 6, Mumtaz Mahar, 8, and their cousin Abdul Latif Mahar, 13, were going to their school in Pano Akil when three motorcyclists opened fire on them. They immediately died.

A doctors’ team from Pano Akil taluka hospital conducted their autopsy at the house of Haji Mahar, father and uncle of the three boys. The bodies were taken to their native village in the kutcha area of Pano Akil for burial.The killings were said to be in revenge for the murder of Gul Mir Chachar who was killed five years ago and Chachar community people had blamed Mahars for the murder. Police raided Shahoo Indhar and Bittar villages and picked up six suspects, including two women, for interrogation whose names could not be disclosed.

Talking to reporters Haji Mahar accused head constable Abdul Khaliq Chachar, constable More Chachar and constable Riaz Chachar of Pano Akil police of being involved in the triple murder.

The three were actually resident of Hussain Bela, katcha area of Pano Akil and had been living in Pano Akil in a rented house as they were studying in a private school in the town.

No case could be registered till filing of this report.

In another incident, armed people shot dead Bakhtiar Jakhrani, Wado Jakhrani and Shahzado Jakhrani adjacent to Indhri railway crossing area near Bakhshapur, Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

The three were intercepted and shot dead while they were going to village Lal Bux Jakhrani from Bakhshapur.

Their bodies were removed to Bakhshapur Rural Health Centre and, after post-mortem, handed over to relatives.

The triple murder is said to be the result of an old enmity going on over a theft incident between two groups of people belonging to Jakhranis.

No case could be registered till late on Tuesday night.
