City loses Rs6.7m to robbers

LAHORE, Jan 24: Robbers shoot a security guard and looted cash and valuables worth Rs6.7 million in eight hits in the city on Tuesday.A group of robbers opened fire on security guard of Eden Gardens housing society in City Raiwind police precincts and fled. The robbers were trying to enter the society when guard Yasin put up resistance.

Five robbers stormed the factory of Syed Mehmood Hyder in Manga Mandi police precincts, thrashed two watchmen, tied them up, loaded goods worth Rs3 million onto a truck and fled.

Four robbers barged in the house of Ejaz in Islampura police precincts and took away cash and valuables worth Rs1 million.

Some robbers entered the house of Advocate Malik Shakir Hayat in Islampura police precincts and looted cash and valuables worth Rs700,000.

Some robbers burst into the house of Mrs Iqbal in Iqbal Town police precincts and looted cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Some robbers stormed the patrol pump of Babar Ali in Manga Mandi police precincts, held the staff at gunpoint, looted Rs700,000 and cell phones and fled.

Two robbers stormed the Punjab General Store in Shalimar police precincts and took away Rs400,000 and cell phones.

Two robbers stopped Bilal and his family in Sattokatla police precincts and deprived them of cash and valuables worth Rs300,000.
