Couple killed over property dispute

LAHORE, Jan 8: Unidentified men gunned down a couple in Baghbanpura apparently over a property dispute on Sunday.

Ghulam Mustafa, a 50-year-old ex-serviceman, allegedly sold his house to Mustafa a few months ago but did not give him possession. Later, he sold the same property to another person, Ibrar, collected money from him and disappeared.

Both Mustafa and Ibrar traced the whereabouts of Ghulam Mustafa in Narowal and pressed him to resolve the dispute. Ghulam Mustafa along with 27-year-old wife Neelam Shahzadi came to the city and stayed at Ibrar’s house near Daroghawala.

He was returning from Ibrar’s house along with wife when some motorcyclists stopped them and had an argument. Later, the bikers shot at the couple, killing them on the spot.

SHOT DEAD: A 28-year-old man was gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists near Tajpura Stop on Sunday.

Usman, alias Nauna, of Gosia Colony, Zarar Shaheed Road, was wanted by the North Cantonment police in the murder case of his paternal cousin, Javed, alias Jaida, five months ago.

His family suspected that Javed’s brother Akbar and his men had eliminated Usman as Akbar’s son Jabir Sultan was also injured in the shooting incident in which Javed was killed.

The police said both the families had exchanged firing in the past as well. Usman was also nominated in a hurt case.
