KARACHI, Jan 7: Steps are being taken for the installation of solar energy streetlights at important places and main thoroughfares in the metropolis.

This was stated by the Karachi Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed while talking to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) officers here on Saturday.

The administrator said that the use of solar energy in the city would be increased gradually. Solar lights would also be installed in parks and playgrounds, he added.

He said that solar lights would be installed this month from Bilawal Chowrangi to Bagh Ibn-i-Qasim on an experimental basis.—APP
