Prayers for Benazir

LAHORE, Dec 27: Quran Khwani was held at the Governor's House on Tuesday in connection with the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.

The PPP workers paid homage to their leader and vowed to continue following her philosophy in politics.

Two such functions were held at the residence and office of Dr Ziaullah Khan Bangash and Asif Hashmi, respectively.

PPP's Altaf Qureshi said Benazir Bhutto had returned to the country to liberate it from a dictator. He said she was the symbol of federation and her death was a big loss to the country.

Dr Ziaullah Bangash said the PPP had a history of struggle and sacrifices against anti-democratic forces and would continue its mission in the future. He said she would remain alive in the hearts of the people.
